Supplier development involves a strategic decision on the nature and scope of the collaboration with a certain supplier as well as defining specific targets and activities aimed at steering the supplier’s performance to benefit the buying organization. It also includes monitoring the defined activities and establishing a continuous improvement process with the objective of enhancing, or developing, the relationship with a selected supplier.
